About Toolantern

Small, honest tools for questions that deserve a quick, reliable answer.

Toolantern is an independent collection of free web tools: calculators, estimators, converters and checkers. Each one is built around a single question, such as "what will this AI workload cost per month?", and tries to answer it better than a search result or a spreadsheet would.

How we build tools

• One job per tool. No dashboards to learn and no accounts to create.
• Private by design. Every calculation runs in your browser. We have no server that receives what you type.
• Show the working. Every tool page explains its formula, walks through an example and lists its limitations.
• Dated, sourced data. Tools built on prices or other changing data show when that data was last checked and link to the official sources.
• Written for each language. Language versions are adapted to local formats, examples and conventions, not just machine-translated.

Corrections

If you spot an outdated price, a bug or a calculation you disagree with, please get in touch. Corrections are made quickly and the "last checked" date is updated.

Advertising and affiliate links

Toolantern is free to use and may be supported by display advertising. Some tools may in future link to products or services relevant to your result through affiliate links, which pay us a commission at no cost to you. Any such link is labelled on the page where it appears. Advertising and affiliate relationships never change how a calculation works or which option comes out cheapest.

Accessibility

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA: every input has a label, results are announced to screen readers, nothing relies on colour alone, and pages work with a keyboard and at any zoom level. If something gets in your way, please tell us through the contact page.
